Their relationship levels are locked below 2. A type three quarrel is even worse, permanently ensuring the Miis will never be friends again. However, a type two quarrel is different, and much more permanent, as it is caused by relationship levels going into the negatives. A type one quarrel is the same as the original Miitopia, in which the relationship is put on pause, but once the quarrel is resolved, everything is back to normal.
